Renewable Combined Heat & Power Solution
The ZeroPoint Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Solution represents the leading edge in the development of distributed biomass gasification processes. The ZeroPoint CHP Solution is designed to fuel an internal combustion engine while capturing heat for thermal applications.
Features:
ZeroPoint's standardized CHP Solution is designed to produce enough synthesis gas to generate approximately 1.8 MW of electricity and 8.4 MMBtu/hr of recoverable heat for thermal applications. The ZeroPoint CHP approach allows power and heat to be produced with significantly higher conversion efficiencies than direct combustion of biomass. The ZeroPoint CHP Solution is delivered in a modular, skid-mounted package featuring a high efficiency downdraft gasifier with on-board gas scrubbing equipment. The process utilizes state of the art PLC controls to maximize process stability and conversion efficiency. ZeroPoint's CHP Solution is designed to process a wide variety of biomass fuels including wood chips, wood pellets, palm fruit wastes, sugar cane bagasse, dried distillers grain, corn stover, switchgrass, agricultural and forestry wastes and other locally available feedstocks.

The figure at lower right shows a simplified flow diagram. Biomass enters the gasifier for conversion into synthesis gas. The gas is cooled and cleaned to remove particulates, tars and oils. The conditioned gas is sent to a reciprocating engine to produce electricity. Engine water jackets and exhaust heat recovery systems capture thermal resources for on-site use.
Benefits:
    - On-Site Renewable Heat and Power
    - Utilizes Carbon Neutral Biomass
    - Offsets Fossil Fuel Consumption
    - Reduces Air Pollution Emissions
    - Generates Dispatchable Power

Our focus points
Renewable Gas
On-site production of synthesis gas displaces fossil fuels with a carbon neutral fuel while avoiding gas distribution costs. Applications include steam boilers, coal co-firing, process heat, space heat and other thermal loads.
Distributed Generation or CHP

Dispatchable renewable electricity and heat production enables targeted deployment of renewable generation resources. Incremental scaling allows single or multiple deployments to match local biomass availability and price points.
Syngas for Liquid Fuels Production

Extensive gas scrubbing sets the stage for liquid fuels production in a distributed model. Community scale transportation and heating fuels bypass traditional supply chains.
